Aurizon and CBH have signed a long-term haulage and rollingstock maintenance contract covering all rail requirements for CBH’s Western Australian grain harvests. CBH Group are Australia's largest grain exporter, handling an average annual harvest of 14 million tonnes of grain.

As Aurizon continues to thrive in 2023, we are currently seeking qualified Locomotive Drivers to be based at our Avon (Northam) depot in Western Australia on a full-time arrangement. This role will be suited to an individual who is able to display superior teamwork skills, flexibility, a high level of safety awareness and excellent customer service.

About the role:

• Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting and marshalling.
• Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
• Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures.
• Maintain a high level of on-time running.
• Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
• Provide high quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives. 

About you:  

• Strong commitment to safety and the Aurizon Safety Strategy “I Know Safe, I Choose Safe”.
• Must be available to work 24/7 shift roster.
• Experience in WA Safeworking System is advantageous.
• Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
• A certificate IV in Rail Operations.
• Current unrestricted Class C drivers licence.
