Aurizon and Team Global Express (TGE) have just signed a major long-term national contract. This partnership with a cornerstone customer will see Aurizon secure a key position in Australia’s growing containerised freight market. The contract provides for Aurizon rail linehaul services connecting the state capitals of Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

We are currently seeking qualified Locomotive Drivers to be based at our Dry Creek depot in Adelaide on a full-time arrangement. This role will be a mix of local and relay working (North – South & East – West), which will see you working away from home for up to 5 days at a time.

About the role:

  • Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting and marshalling.
  • Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
  • Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of on-time running.
  • Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
  • Provide high quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives. 

About you:

  • Strong commitment to safety and Aurizon’s safety strategy “I Know Safe, I Choose Safe”
  • Must be available to work a 24/7 shift roster
  • Experience working in any of the following Safe Working systems an advantage: SA, WA, NSW, VIC and NT
  • Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience
  • A Certificate IV in Rail Operations
  • Current unrestricted driver’s licence
