About the role:

Seeking Mount Isa locals for a full-time permanent position offering a competitive salary with annual location allowance review and other benefits. This role is integral to Aurizon's Port, focusing on road transport, heavy mobile plants, and timely scheduled yard operations.

  • Plan, coordinate and supervise the end-to-end operational requirements of the transport tasks
  • Ensure capacity management is provided as defined by customer agreements
  • Liaise with operators and all other relevant internal and external stakeholders regarding capacity plans, scheduling, approvals and infrastructure works for the purpose of maximising capacity
  • Ensure all haulage and heavy equipment activities occurring within operational areas are performed with a high degree of customer service in a directive on Coordination Plans
  • Maintain Aurizon’s performance reporting for the precinct ensuring Customer obligations are achieved
  • Supervise and assist local incident management and undertake investigations as they arise withing the operational environments
  • Ensure that all employees comply with policies, standards, specifications, protocols, and instructions,
  • Comply with NHVAS systems for compliance
  • Maintain roster and payroll entries in relevant systems.

About you:

  • Minimum 3 years; experience in working in a logistics environment
  • Previous line leadership experience in a logistics or heavy industrial organisation
  • High level of skills in supervising transport operations
  • Sound knowledge of the Safety Management System and standards
  • Sound knowledge for NHVAS Maintenance, Mass and Fatigue Management Schemes
  • Skilled in planning day of operation activities
  • Communication, interpersonal, consultation and conflict resolution skills
  • Skilled in the use of information technology and systems, focusing on monitoring, recording and reporting systems, utilised within precinct environment.
