About the role: We are seeking a highly efficient Customer Account Manager to work within our Bulk Commercial team. You will be well versed in your customers’ contracts and can identify and manage opportunities and areas of risk.  As the key contact for your customer, you will assist with the negotiation and management of contractual arrangements to support one of Bulk West’s largest customers with complex rail operations across most of state to seek value add opportunities for them and Aurizon.  This is your chance to work with a great team of people, delivering critical commercial outcomes in a supportive and high-performance culture.

Within this role you will-

  • Develop and maintain the accuracy and currency of the key account management plan for each customer in the portfolio.
  • Actively manage the performance of each contract within the customer portfolio through the rigorous contract performance management process.
  • Optimise the full value of each customer delivering profitable growth.
  • Be the lead expert for all customer intelligence within the portfolio.
  • Communicate customer requirements, issues and opportunities to the teams within the corridor they align.

About you:  You are an experienced account manager within a large-scale transport (ideally) environment, you will be well versed in contract interpretation, implementation, and governance. You will have strong leadership skills and the ability to make quick, confident decisions.

  • High level skills in the identification, specification and delivery of customer service in a large commercial organisation.
  • Substantial knowledge of transport and logistic operations, within the relevant area and commercial activities within a large and diverse organisation.
  • Solid understanding of financial analysis of haulage contracts.
  • Substantial interpersonal skills including negotiation, consultation, facilitation and written communication skills for use in an improvement and transfer environment.
  • Due to time of year, this role will be advertised for a longer period. We will be in contact towards end of January.
